Growing IoT data management start-up Microshare.io needs a dedicated Scala/Akka software developer to help scale-out our micro-services. We are 100% Scala with a mix of Akka, Akka-Http, and Play microservices. We are moving into more Akka-stream and (possibly) Cloudflow data pipelining using Lightbend’s latest. Our product is gaining traction in the IoT marketplace and we want to scale features, performance, and customer delight.

Highlights:

• Work on scaling backend microservices in 100% Scala/Akka
  

• Work on cutting-edge Lightbend Cloudflow architecture to implement new data pipelines
  

• Be part of a small team of seasoned developers

Responsibilities:

• Work along with development team to plan, implement, and improve Scala-based microservices
  

• Manage, expand, and improve device to data technology stack

• Be expert with Akka, Akka-Streams to improve throughput and tune for efficiency and stability
  

• Work within our core engineering team in Haverhill, MA and our local teams across the US and Europe

Qualifications:

• Passionate about Scala and Akka
  

• 3-10 years full-time experience in full-stack software environment

• Knowledge of real-time data processing

• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Technical degree a plus, but prefer proven passion over education

• Fun to work with and takes pride in getting things done

• Full-stack programming skills

• Kubernetes experience

• Wireless Security

• Data analysis

Salary: $85,000.00 to $125,000.00/year
