Microshare releases EverSmart Air, SaaS-ready indoor air quality solution

PHILADELPHIA, April 4 – With the health and safety of indoor spaces now a major concern of the pandemic-era global workforce, Microshare on Friday released EverSmart Air, the Smart Building data company’s latest move to address the demands of the “new normal.”

Philadelphia-based Microshare, a leading provider of Smart Building data to multinationals, governments and other institutions around the world, has repeatedly innovated during the pandemic and was the first to market with a wearable contact tracing solution and a data-driven cleaning product, EverSmart Clean.

The global COVID-19 pandemic shined a new light on the need for empirical data on indoor spaces and Microshare’s EverSmart suite of products is designed to meet these challenges. In mid-March, the White House announced a new initiative aimed at raising awareness about the import role indoor air quality data plays in safeguarding buildings against viral spread and other contamination.

EverSmart Air monitors and warns against por air quality issues which can accelerate the spread of viral illness. By harnessing and correlating data from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, EverSmart Air alerts building managers on issues related to temperature, humidity and CO2 – all factors vital to optimizing indoor spaces to provide a safe and productive indoor environment. The product also includes options for tracking particulate matter (PMs) of the kind created by industrial pollution or forest fires, as well as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that might emanate from carpeting, paint, construction materials or even a leaking stove.

“More and more we’re seeing that air-tight buildings relying on mechanical ventilation often have indoor air quality problems,” says Dr. Andy Dengel of the UK’s Building Standards Establishment (BSE). “Understanding the nature of those problems and taking action is vital to keeping occupants safe, especially in this moment oof tight labor markets.”

The White House’s  Clean Air in Buildings Challenge is a set of principles and best practices to assist building owners and operators with reducing risks of airborne viruses while indoors. They conform perfectly to what Microshare has been saying since before the COVID-19 pandemic: What you can’t see can definitely hurt you when it comes to the indoor environment.

Throughout the two years of the pandemic, experts have proven ventilation and filtration are recognized as important components in spreading Covid-19 and that poorly ventilated spaces or environments where temperature and humidity are improperly calibrated will accelerate the spread of the viral illness.

Improving a building’s IAQ generally starts with measuring exposure to dangerous elements, for instance, carbon dioxide, which typically builds in an indoor space as more people populate a building. Regulation of potentially dangerous indoor air has mostly been voluntary to date, but the European Union, the UK, and some specific US jurisdictions have taken up the challenge in the wake of the pandemic. The White House initiative signals a new level of interest at the US federal level.

Employers have begun to see the importance of wellness offerings to their staff, resulting in the rise of the Chief Wellness-Officer, a position playing a key role businesses Return-to-Office plans.

Philadelphia-based Microshare, a leader in Smart Building and sustainability data, deploys Internet of Things (IoT) sensors at scale to produce cost savings, efficiencies, and sustainability metrics that enhance the safety, wellness and responsiveness of indoor spaces. The EverSmart suite of products monitors space occupancy and usage, air quality, energy consumption, customer satisfaction, environmental performance and more. Microshare’s cloud-based Sensing Network delivers the scalability, security and speed you’d expect for an enterprise solution. With scoring, advanced telematics, alerts and recommendations, EverSmart Air is a leap into the future of Smart Building technology.
